The today/tonight, 5 day outlook, UV index, and allergy report daily graphics cover the Venice region specifically. Most of Sarasota counties weather is similar to what you’ll see in those forecast graphics. There are plans to expand North and/or South of Sarasota county in the future as this service continues to grow.

The marine & beach forecast covers all major county beaches including Venice beach, Siesta Key beach, Nokomis Beach, Blind Pass beach, Casperson beach, and Englewood beach. You can find the most recent marine & beach forecast here!

The daily weather forecasts are posted every morning by 7 AM. The 5 day outlooks go out at 12 PM (noon) each day. The marine & beach forecast is posted at 4 PM valid for the next day as specified on the graphics. (*PLEASE NOTE: IF there is to be any changes to this schedule you will be notified!)

Yes! Red tide updates are posted weekly when things are not busy or on an as needed basis when red tide is present in high concentrations. Typically, Friday afternoon is when the weekly red tide update is released. You can find the red tide report here!

Yes! Hurricane Ian was a very busy week for VFFWS and we had 24/7 updates throughout that whole week as things continued to change. You can trust VFFWS to bring you live weather updates during any tropical weather throughout the hurricane season. Typically during the season tropical weather updates are posted on an as needed basis when things are quiet over the Gulf and Atlantic Oceans. For a personal hurricane preparation list please see this page here!
